George Smith Partners was founded in 1992, the year that four LAPD police officers were acquitted of assault and excessive force committed against Rodney King, an action that ignited riots throughout the City of Los Angeles. When George Smith and the Founding Partners launched the firm, they did it with the vision that diversity of thought, experiences, and beliefs would be the bedrock of GSP’s success.
In the time since our inception, GSP has grown, in large part, because it has held to the belief that diversity, coupled with an unyielding work ethic, were a powerful way to serve the city that we call home. We have worked with lenders and clients to enhance the multifamily options, retail & hospitality experiences, office spaces and industrial hubs for all Angelenos and across the Nation.
Since early March we have been working with our clients and lenders to adjust to the new paradigm that Covid-19 has wrought. Just as we saw a semblance of return to normalcy the tragic event of George Floyd’s death swept through our community, anew. We especially grieve with the African American community as this moment once again brings us all face to face with injustice.
George Smith Partners stands with our community, clients, lenders, and employees in the wholesale rejection of racism and discrimination. We stand shoulder to shoulder with all those who fight for justice and pledge our steadfast support to stakeholders throughout Los Angeles and Nationwide, in the fight for justice and equal rights.
