David Stepanchak

Senior Vice President

David Stepanchak brings an extensive range of experience in the structuring of complex debt and equity transactions to George Smith Partners. During his 28-year career in mortgage financing, David has arranged financing in excess of $4 billion in commercial, multi-family, and residential transactions throughout the United States. His responsibilities include solicitation, underwriting, and structuring of debt and equity transactions from $1 million to $250 million.

David is a continued member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and in conjunction with his desire to serve in a leadership role, he observes a philanthropic approach to his community. Currently he serves as an active participant of the Leadership Council at Elizabethtown College, a liberal arts undergraduate institution located on the East Coast, where David earned a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Business Administration.

He has also been active in the A-T Medical Research Foundation, a 501(c)3 working to raise awareness and gather support for the research of Ataxia-Telangiectasia, a rare degenerative disorder. David also supports other local and national charities of personal interest and importance to him.

David earned his Master’s Degree in Finance from the University of Southern California; and from time to time has served as a lecturer to real estate students at USC’s Marshall School of Business. He continues to serve Marshall Students interested in pursuing a career in real estate as a one-on-one mentor.

David abides by an approach of “working hard and playing hard.” He is an avid off-road motorcyclist and keeps a Harley-Davidson in the garage for weekend rides. He is also passionate about his latest hobby as a helicopter pilot, often supplementing underwriting packages with his own aerial photographs.
